Luck & Nakato Race at Road America in GridLife

While half of our team was in Portland for Trans-Am West, the other half was at Road America racing with GridLife at Summer Apex! In years past, Road America was the final round of GridLife's season, but this year, it got a new date and a new festival called Summer Apex.

We had Larry Luck driving our red #161 E46 M3, and team owner Eddie Nakato was behind the wheel of our newly acquired blue #162 E46 M3!

We picked up this S54-powered BMW M3 out of California, which was previously owned by our good friend Alex Audi. He campaigned the car at the GridLife Laguna event last year with us. With our other two cars stolen, we needed something to replace them, so we reached out to Alex and made a deal to buy his car from him.

It's a great foundation that we can further develop and make a bit more competitive moving forward in GridLife and other endurance racing events for our Arrive & Drive program.

Larry and Eddie had a fantastic time racing at one of the best tracks in the country. This was Larry's first trip to Elkhart Lake, and he improved drastically throughout the weekend. Between Race 1 and the end of the weekend in Race 4, Larry moved up 22 positions in a 54-car grid. He also picked up 11 seconds of lap time and finished mid-pack in a vast field of GridLife Touring Cup cars by the end of Race 4. "I just love this track", Larry said. "It was a lot of fun racing with so many cars with a similar power-to-weight ratio. The field is really competitive, and I learned a lot!"

Eddie, in our new blue M3, had a few minor issues throughout the weekend that forced him to miss a few sessions, but it proved to be a productive first shakedown weekend for the car under our ownership. Now, we need to get it further developed to be more competitive in GLTC! We will be sharing more updates as we go along.
